That’s a great quote. In contrast, I saw your editorial page editor on Now with Bill Moyers: Gigot stuck to the line that, though “mistakes were made,” the current outrage over the course of the war in Iraq, and the abuse of Iraqi civilians, is largely politically motivated.

Well, the WSJ editorial page isn’t going to be endorsing Kerry any time soon — their politics are not changing. What interests me is their increasing impatience with Bush; even those who agree with his policies are starting to question his competence. This is a big change from even a year ago.

        Re: “My”???

Yeah, Gigot isn’t going to endorse anyone to the left of Julius Streicher. It is heartening that cracks are beginning to appear in the Facade Bush: whether those cracks will be decisive in November is, of course, a moot* point.

*It really is a shame you weren’t a fan of Friends:

Joey: All right, Rach. The big question is, “does he like you?” All right? Because if he doesn’t like you, this is all a moo point.
        Rachel: Huh. A moo point?
Joey: Yeah, it’s like a cow’s opinion. It just doesn’t matter. It’s moo.
